About
Hi I'm Shoshana ...
The creation of Back To Eden has been an amazing journey for me.
It has allowed my love of Nature, the Arts, Plant Medicine and Truth to all come together. My intention is to help guide, inspire, and have a positive impact on supporting a healthy, peaceful, and loving planet. This change starts from within and with making new healthy and Ethical choices in our everyday living that support the changes we wish to see.
Since ancient times people worldwide from all cultures and tribes have been using plants, flowers and Herbs to support Hygiene, Beauty, and Health. Yet, many of us in our western culture have lost that inherent connection with our natural environment since the emergence of western medicine and big pharmaceutical corporations have dominated the public mindset.
Fortunately Natural Medicine has begun to make its comeback in the Western world. People are once again curious about traditional remedies: what their ancestors used once upon a time and what other cultures are using. With this new mindset, people are exploring Herbs and Teas for healing and searching for non-toxic alternatives to the harsh chemicals we have been trained to ingest.
I've recently added Sustainable fashion to the Back To Eden Online shop. Artisanal Handcrafted pieces in addition to the plant medicines I have been collecting from the locals on my travels.
The sustainable fashion accessory and jewelry collection has earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, purses handcrafted by artisans worldwide who use traditional techniques and eco-friendly materials.
Your support, allows Artisans are able to improve their own lives, invest in their families, and give work and training to other women in their communities.
Fast fashion puts a strain on the environment and takes advantage workers in developing countries, most of whom are women. This is an unsustainable and unfair business model that harms people and planet. Our ethical shop is created to minimize the strain on the environment and our natural resources, environmental damage, the use of hazardous chemicals, waste, and animal cruelty.
Why Does Ethical Fashion Matter?
We are increasingly disconnected from the people who make our clothing, as 97% of items we consume in the US are now made overseas. Producers at the bottom of the supply chain of the fashion industry are some of the lowest paid workers in the world, and roughly 85% of them are women. The human factor of the fashion industry is too big to ignore, as we consistently see the exploitation of cheap labor and the violation of workers’, women’s, and human rights across the world.
